WHAT IS CENTRAL OPS & SERVICES?

In the Central Operations and Services Area, we provide reliable cloud solutions and different technical services to enable Mercedes-Benz digital products to focus on their business purpose.

We build up cloud infrastructure and services such as CI/CD Tools, Monitoring & Logging solutions, and many more tools used by our software development teams. Besides just providing tools, our teams collaborate closely with the Software Development teams to ensure and increase developer satisfaction by optimizing the platform services.

The Teams within the Area enable e.g. Identity Access Management or coherent customer data handling for all users interacting with the digital touchpoints. Our central Service Management Team provides a overarching service management model including processes and tools.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL

  • Improve monitoring and help elevating the quality, performance and resiliency of our products

  • Engage in and improve existing services, through deployment, operation and refinement of current implementations

  • Maintain services by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health

  • Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and performance

  • Develop and maintain tools for automating operational tasks to reduce manual intervention, minimize errors and improve efficiency

  • Document procedures, best practices and knowledge about the products

  • Be supported and mentored by experienced SREs

TO SUCCEED YOU NEED

  • Have working knowledge of Python or Go

  • Have the ability to debug and propose changes to application code and deployment processes

  • Automate routine tasks

  • Have working knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems

  • Have working knowledge of AWS and Kubernetes

  • Have a degree in Computer Science, a related technical field involving software/systems engineering, or equivalent practical experience
