Our Pitstops are a highlight of the year for many MB.ioneers. These gatherings bring the Tribe together, offering chances to reflect, engage in meaningful dialogue, and create lasting memories. While the format may differ, the purpose remains the same: deepening our connections and strengthening our Tribe spirit. As a first-timer, I was immediately struck by the warmth and energy of the community — an experience I won’t forget!

If you’d told me a few years ago that I’d end up working in internal communications, I probably would have laughed. As a lifestyle journalist, my days were filled with researching trends, interviewing fascinating people, and writing stories for readers to escape into or learn from. But life, as it often does, had other plans. Fast forward to today, and my role couldn’t look more different. Now, I focus on engaging my fellow MB.ioneers (as we call ourselves at Mercedes-Benz.io), promoting company culture, and crafting messages that bring our digital tribe together from the inside out.

The journey through burnout can feel like a slow drain, where every small frustration and unmet expectation chips away at your energy. For me, this realization came during my time at a previous company, where I navigated a dysfunctional team and faced mounting pressures. The pandemic only magnified these challenges, forcing many of us to re-evaluate our work, relationships, and mental resilience. In this post, I’ll share my personal experience of reaching a breaking point, along with the hard-won lessons and the steps I took to recharge my “mental battery.”

As an experience designer, I regularly receive feedback, which plays a crucial role in my work. It comes from multiple sources—users, peers, and stakeholders—shaping the products and experiences I help create. In addition to my work, I also teach students, which requires me to provide high-quality feedback. So I'm on both ends of this "feedback" transaction.
